As a Producer and Creative Director Tempest's work is unparalleled in the world of Burlesque. Tempest Rose owns and runs House of Burlesque - the UK's top burlesque production house and is its sole driving force and Creative Director.
She has run successful residencies in all the major London Cabaret venues - Madame Jojo's, Cafe de Paris, The Hippodrome, as well as produced 2 UK tours - Burlesque Idol in 2016, and Shipwrecked which toured 11 major UK theatres in 2012/13 such as Southampton Mayflower and Newcastle Theatre Royal. Her show Speakeasy has been a staple of London weekly nightlife for over 6 years having started life at the legendary Madame Jojo's - where Tempest was one of the venue's most prolific and successful guest producers.
Over her 16 year career Tempest has run hugely successful residencies at Underbelly Southbank, The Shard, Grace Hall, Sway Bar, Century Club, Harrogate International Festivals, Christmas in Leicester Square, Vault Festival and Halifax Piece Hall. She has produced at The Jazz Cafe, The Albany, Theatre Royal Windsor, and in 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic she produced and starred in two packed shows at the prestigious Bridge Theatre, Tower Bridge, London. In 2021 she set the standard again for online Burlesque shows with L'Amour and House of Burlesque Divine.
Tempest has consistently received critical praise for pushing the boundaries of burlesque and reclaiming it as a celebration of female empowerment. In 2017 she once again redefined this incredible art form with House of Burlesque 2.0. A contemporary burlesque production featuring multi-screen projections, remixed music and jaw-dropping tech which debuted at Vaults Festival then ran at Underbelly on London's South Bank, Halifax Piece Hall and Christmas in Leicester Square.
In 2020 Arts Council England honoured Tempest's work through House of Burlesque by recognising it as one of the UK's top cultural institutions and awarded HOB funding from the Cultural Recovery Fund to safeguard them through the pandemic.
In 2022 Tempest produced the The Burlesque Masquerade Ball at the Duke of York's Theatre in London West End - the first event of its kind ever in a West End Theatre.
Tempest Rose's vision and belief in Burlesque as an art form, unique understanding of what makes audiences adore Burlesque and what its place should be in the modern era has made House of Burlesque shows some of the best in the world.
Tempest Rose is a strong feminist and speaks often on burlesque's positive contribution to body image and celebration of the female mind and body.
