Tempest Rose entered the world of burlesque in London in 2007 when the scene was only just beginning to poke a stilletto heel out of the underground in to the mainstream. Coming to burlesque from a career and training in professional acting and dance Tempest has a unique understanding of burlesque as a theatrical artform, an exquisite grace of movement and a stage presence that could ignite dynamite.
Theatrical, glamorous and full of pizzazz she has danced her way across some of the UK's most celebrated London cabaret club stages from Volupte, Cafe de Paris, The Hippodrome and Madame Jojo's to some of UK's most beautiful and No1 theatres such as Newcastle Theatre Royal, Southampton Mayflower, Theatre Royal Glasgow and New Theatre Cardiff. Her career has taken her overseas to perform in Rome, Amsterdam, Paris and Milan all the way to The Slipper Room in NYC and for The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend in Las Vegas - two of the birth places of the modern burlesque revival.
Tempest has appeared as a burlesque artist and expert on MTV, BBC3, ITV2, Channel 4, London Live as well as being featured on BBC1's Heir Hunters taking about the history of The Windmill in Soho and fandancing. She has performed for the Royal Navy, Google UK and the Courtauld Gallery and taught burlesque at the V&A and Kingston University.
Miss Tempest Rose is a firm believer in burlesque’s ability to inspire, up-lift, entertain and dazzle audiences worldwide and is passionate about the artform that has one foot in contemporary culture and one foot rooted in its glorious past.
